The purpose of this notice is to inform applicants of the early termination of PAR-22-184 "NINDS/NCATS Clinical Trial Readiness for Rare Neurological and Neuromuscular Diseases".

Ethical considerations are intrinsic to the responsible conduct of neuroscience research and the translation of neuroscience advances (scientific and technological) into practice. This Notice of Special Interest (NOSI) highlights interest in receiving grant applications to advance research on ethical questions relevant to the NINDS mission of pursuing important work to gain a deeper understanding of the brain and nervous system to develop effective therapies for all people.

The purpose of this notice of correction is to inform applicants of the removal of the basic science experimental studies (BESH) language from PAR-24-219 NIH HEAL Initiative PainCare Clinician Training Program (PCTP): Mentored Clinical Scientist Development Awards (K08 - Clinical Trials Not Allowed). Clinical Trials, including BESH, are not allowed under this notice of funding opportunity (NOFO).

The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) and the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) intend to promote a new initiative by publishing a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) that solicits applications focused on the neurological and psychiatric manifestations of infection-associated chronic illnesses, including the post-acute sequelae of COVID-19 (Neuro-PASC) as well as other chronic illnesses with a potential infectious trigger (post-treatment Lyme Disease, myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome [ME/CFS], postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome [POTS], post-viral fatigue syndromes, etc.). Projects that investigate common neuropsychiatric mechanisms across multiple infection-associated chronic illnesses would be of particular interest, although this is not a requirement (i.e., applications can focus on a single condition).

This Request for Information (RFI) seeks your perspective, comments, and suggestions related to Neural Exposome research priorities for the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS). A working group of NINDS's advisory council has developed a set of draft priorities to guide NINDS's neural exposome research efforts for the next 5-10 years.

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) Helping to End Addiction Long-term Initiative, or NIH HEAL Initiative, supports research to accelerate scientific solutions to the overdose crisis, including improved interventions for opioid use disorder and pain management. The purpose of this Request for Information (RFI) is to solicit input on the future of the HEAL Initiative and how scientific research can address the urgent public health challenges of opioid use disorder (OUD), overdose, and chronic pain. The NIH is soliciting input from all interest groups, including members of the scientific community, the private sector, community-based organizations, health professionals, professional societies, advocacy groups, patient communities, people with living/lived experience, caregivers, and other interested members of the public.
