Notice Type: PAR
The purpose of this NOFO is to invite Exploratory/Developmental Research Grant (R21) applications that propose to study the ethical, legal, and social implications (ELSI) of human genetics and genomics. Applications may propose studies using either single or mixed methods. Approaches may include but are not limited to empirical qualitative and quantitative methods, as well as conceptual, legal, and normative analyses. Direct involvement of key stakeholders where appropriate is encouraged. Of particular interest are studies that explore the implications of new or emerging genomic technologies or novel uses of genomic information.

NOFO Number: PAR-23-309
Tuesday, September 26, 2023
Notice Type: PAR
The purpose of this Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) is to support novel and innovative research that examines and/or intervenes upon the underlying and multilevel causes, pathways, and factors adversely impacting the health and well-being of persons living with one or more disabilities among populations experiencing health disparities.
BRAIN Initiative: New Concepts and Early-Stage Research for Recording and Modulation in the Nervous System (R21) (Clinical Trial Not Allowed)
Expiration Date: Tuesday, June 16, 2026
NOFO Number: RFA-EY-23-001
Tuesday, September 19, 2023
Notice Type: RFA
This FOA seeks applications for unique and innovative recording and/or modulation technologies that are in the earliest stage of development, including new and untested ideas that are in the initial stages of conceptualization. Some projects may aim to increase recording or modulation capabilities by many orders of magnitude, while others may aim to improve the precision and selectivity of recording or modulation (also referred to as stimulation, perturbation, or manipulation). A wide range of modalities are appropriate including acoustic, chemical, electrical, magnetic, and optical, as well as the use of genetic tools. Invasive or non-invasive approaches are sought that will enable large-scale recording and/or precise manipulation of neural activity, and that would ultimately be compatible with experiments in humans or behaving animals. Applications are encouraged from any qualified individual, including chemists, physicists, engineers, theoreticians, materials scientists, and others from fields not typically involved with neuroscience research. This FOA requires a Plan for Enhancing Diverse Perspectives (PEDP), which will be assessed as part of the scientific and technical peer review evaluation. Applications that fail to include a PEDP will be considered incomplete and will be withdrawn.
Notice of Special Interest (NOSI): Research Supplements to Promote Re-Entry, Re-integration into, and Re-training in Health-Related Research Careers (Admin Supp - Clinical Trial Not Allowed)
Expiration Date: Friday, October 9, 2026
NOFO Number: NOT-OD-23-170
Wednesday, September 6, 2023
Notice Type: Notice of Special Interest
The goal of this program is to provide support for a mentored research training experience for individuals with high potential to re-enter, re-integrate into, or re-train in an active research career, after an interruption for family responsibilities or other qualifying circumstances as described below. This program encourages re-entry, re-integration, and re-training administrative supplement applications to existing NIH research grants to support full or part-time mentored research experiences by these individuals. The supplement grants are intended to provide these scientists an opportunity to update or extend their research skills and knowledge and prepare them to re-establish or revitalize their careers in basic biomedical, behavioral, clinical, translational, or social science research. It is anticipated that by the completion of the supplement support period, the re-entry/re-integration/re-training supplement awardee will be prepared to apply for a fellowship (F), career development (K) award, a research award (R), SBIR/STTR, or other types of independent research support.
Notice of Special Interest (NOSI): Small Business Initiatives for Innovative tools and Technologies for Improving Outcomes for Maternal Health
