Awarded Project
Human Schwann Cell-Derived Exosome Treatment for Traumatic Brain Injury
Dr. Dietrich’s research focuses on investigating the pathophysiology and treatment of various conditions including cerebral ischemia, stroke, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury. His project aims to investigate the safety and effectiveness of cell transplantation strategies in people with brain and spinal cord injuries and the use of human Schwann cell-derived exosomes to deliver anti-inflammatory and pro-regenerative mediators to the injured nervous system. This novel approach will target both neuroprotective and reparative processes and will lead to future clinical trials using this innovative therapeutic approach.
