Sandra Maday was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Pennsylvania. In the laboratory of Dr. Erika Holzbaur, her research focused on determining the mechanisms of autophagosome biogenesis from birth to maturation into degradative and functional organelles, and how this pathway becomes altered in response to cellular stressors such as mitochondrial damage and protein aggregation. She earned her Ph.D. in cell biology from Yale University and earned her B.A. in biochemistry and biology from Oberlin College. Currently, Dr. Maday is an Assistant Professor of Neuroscience at the University of Pennsylvania.
