Richard Smith is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Harvard Medical School. His research in the lab of Dr. Christopher Walsh aims to identity new gene mutations that are responsible for causing brain malformation diseases that lead to a number of disease phenotypes, as well as to study the basic blueprints for building a normal cerebral cortex. He received a joint Ph.D. in sensory neurobiology and synaptic physiology from University of Maryland and Université Pierre et Marie Curie, and earned his B.S in neurobiology from the University of Maryland.
