The focus of Dr. Sabatini’s laboratory is on uncovering the mechanisms of synapse and circuit plasticity that permit new behaviors to be learned and refined. They are interested in the developmental and circuit changes linked to learning, as well as how perturbation of these processes may contribute to human neuropsychiatric disorders. Trainees highlighted Dr. Sabatini’s dedicated commitment to work-life balance, in the context of being a successful and rigorous scientist. Moreover, peers noted that his mentorship success is rooted in emphasis on a diverse, healthy, and balanced lab personnel group.
