Wayne Frankel, Ph.D.

Dr. Frankel has devoted his career to uncovering genetic causes of epilepsy. His new work will employ gene targeting approaches to model human epilepsy mutations in mice, where he can study how specific mutations cause epilepsy and whether different mutations cause disease through shared pathways. Such questions will be critical for developing successful precision medicine therapies for genetic forms of epilepsy.
