Dr. Yichang Jia was a postdoctoral fellow with Professor Susan Ackerman at Howard Hughes Medical Institute, The Jackson Laboratory, Bar Harbor, Maine. Using a novel mutant mouse strain, he aimed to study the genetic mechanisms underlying neurodegeneration caused by pre-mRNA splicing and misregulation. He earned his Ph.D. in neuroscience from the Institute of Neuroscience, Shanghai Institute for Biological Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shanghai, China, and his M.S. in Medicine from the Nanjing Medical University, Jiangsu, China. He is now a Principal Investigator at IDG/McGovern Institute and an Assistant Professor in the School of Medicine at Tsinghua University, Beijing, China.
