Dr. Will Wang is a postdoctoral research fellow at Stanford University. His research focuses on elucidating the cellular and molecular mechanisms that underlie muscle repair and on developing therapies for chronic muscle disorders. Under the mentorship of Dr. Helen Blau, his work will test the hypothesis that local signaling in the cellular microenvironment regulates the behavior of critical cell types during tissue remodeling and repair. To accomplish this aim, he will utilize tissue cytometry, as well as a novel multiplexed imaging technology that enables the visualization of over 40 antibodies on a single muscle section. His work will provide novel insights into tissue generation, identify signaling molecules that may modulate the function of muscle stem cells, and improve our understanding of the mechanisms of motor neuron and neuromuscular junction remodeling. Dr. Wang received his Bachelor of Science and PhD from the University of Ottawa.
