Dr. Simon W. Moore conducted his postdoctoral study with Dr. Michael Sheetz in the Department of Biological Sciences at Columbia University, New York. His research focused on enhancing the basic understanding of axon guidance using a combination of optical laser tweezers, magnetic tweezers, super resolution imaging techniques and nano-fabricated pillar arrays. The goal of this work was to aid in the development of better regenerative strategies following injury to the nervous system. He earned his Ph.D. from the Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery at McGill University, Montreal, Canada. He is currently an Associate Director and Technology Lead in Global Gene Therapy Research at Takeda Pharmaceuticals, Cambridge, Massachusetts.
