Dissecting the role of dorsomedial striatal circuitries in action selection during spatial exploration

Paolo Botta is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Zuckerman Institute at Columbia University. In the lab of Dr. Rui Costa, Paolo studies the spatial exploratory behaviors of freely moving mice using a combination of neuronal tracing techniques, optogenetic manipulation of neuronal circuits and quantitative analyses of neuronal activity. Dr. Botta received his Ph.D. in Neurobiology at Friedrich Miescher Institute for Biomedical Research and his master’s degree in Neuropsychobiology from Università degli Studi di Cagliari.
