Dr. Orie Shafer conducted his postdoctoral research with Dr. Paul Taghert at Washington University Medical School in St. Louis, Missouri. His research sought to characterize the functional neuronal circuitry of the circadian clock network and the genetic dissection of GPCR/cAMP signaling within clock neurons in Drosophila. He earned his Ph.D. in biology from the University of Washington, Seattle, Washington. He is now a Professor of Biology in the Neuroscience Initiative of the Advanced Science Research Center at The Graduate Center of The City University of New York, New York.
