Dr. Omar El Gharbawie was a postdoctoral fellow with Professor Jon Kaas in the Department of Psychology at the Vanderbilt University, Nashville, Tennessee. His research focused on determining the functional organizations of the parietal-frontal pathways that mediate grasping in monkeys to understand how that network controls clinically relevant motor functions. This research contributed in improving the design of treatments that aid patients with motor disabilities. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Lethbridge, Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Neurobiology in Department of Neurobiology & Systems Neuroscience at the University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
