Megan Y. Dennis was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Washington. In the laboratory of Dr. Evan Eichler, her research aimed to generate high-quality sequences of three genomic regions associated with neurodevelopmental disorders, utilizing a haploid-genomic resource developed to assess regions of high sequence identity. This approach would screen for mutations in cases with neurodevelopmental disorders and functionally characterize genes and identified variants using cell line assays and zebrafish. She earned her Ph.D. in human genetics from a joint D.Phil./Ph.D. program with the University of Oxford and the National Institutes of Health and earned her B.S. in biochemical engineering from Michigan State University. Currently, Dr. Dennis is an Assistant Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine at the University of California, Davis.
