Dr. Jun Ding was a research associate with Dr. Bernardo Sabatini in the Department of Neurobiology at Howard Hughes Medical Institute, Harvard Medical School, Boston, Massachusetts. Using mouse models, he studied the mechanisms underlying synaptic circuit function, including molecular and cellular mechanisms of synapse formation during development. His work also contributed towards understanding the neural substrate for fine motor control and pathophysiological changes that occur in Parkinson's disease. He earned his Ph.D. in neuroscience from the Department of Physiology, Northwestern University, Chicago, Illinois, his M.S. in physiology from Shanghai Institute of Physiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, China, and his B.S. in biology from the Department of Biology, East China Normal University, Shanghai, China. He is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Neurosurgery and the Department of Neurology and Neurological Sciences at the Stanford Institute for Neurosciences, Stanford University School of Medicine, Stanford, California.
