NINDSK99/R00 Awardee – May 2019

Jonathan Tang is a Postdoctoral Fellow at Columbia University. Under the mentorship of Drs. Rui Costa and Stefano Fusi, his research will aim to broaden our understanding of how dopaminergic cells act to promote action learning in mammals. More specifically, he will characterize the role of dopaminergic activity in shaping behavior that hones in on a specific action or action sequences for reward by leveraging the combination of optogenetics and and objective, unsupervised behavioral clustering. Jonathan earned a Ph.D from Harvard University and received an M.S. and B.S. from the University of British Columbia.
