Jacob Schwartz was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Colorado, Boulder. In the lab of Dr. Tom Cech, his research focused on further establishing the mechanism of FUS (an RNA-binding protein) activity on transcription in cells and determining the role that FUS plays in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) pathology. He earned his Ph.D. in biophysics from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School and received an M.S. in biology and B.S. in physics from the University of North Texas. Currently, Dr. Schwartz is an Assistant Professor, Chemistry and Biochemistry, University of Arizona.
