Hiroyuki Koizumi was a Post-Doctoral Fellow in Neuroscience at the University of California, San Diego’s School of Medicine. In the laboratory of Joseph Gleeson, his research focus was study the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying neurodevelopmental disorders and therapy. Leveraging a broad array of modern techniques, including mouse genetics, histology, advanced microscopy, proteomics, and chemical genetics, he specifically aimed to elucidate the molecular and cellular mechanisms of the Dcx gene family in brain function through the study of loss of function alleles and identification of kinase targets. He earned his Ph.D., M.S., and B.S. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Tokyo.
