Haiyang Yu is a Postdoctoral Fellow in Neuroscience at the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research in La Jolla, California. In the lab of Don Cleveland, his research has focused on understanding the biology and pathobiology of TAR DNA-binding protein 43 (TDP43), a nuclear RNA-binding protein that mislocalizes and aggregates in the cytoplasm of neurons and is found in patients with frontotemporal dementia (FTD), amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), and Alzheimer’s disease (AD).  He received his Ph.D. in molecular cell biology from Washington University in St. Louis, and earned his B.S. in biological science from Naikai University.
