Emanuela Santini was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at New York University. Her research at NYU focused on how altered structural and synaptic plasticity in the striatum leads to repetitive, stereotyped and perseverative behaviors, and to identify new molecular targets to develop mechanism-based therapeutics to treat autism spectrum disorder (ASD). She earned her Ph.D. from Karolinska Institutet and earned her Msc from Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche in Italy. Currently, Dr. Santini is a Wallenberg Academy Fellow at Karolinska Institute.
