Dr. David Prober was a postdoctoral fellow with Dr. Alexander Schier at the Skirball Institute of Biomolecular Medicine, New York and at Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts. Using zebrafish as a model system, he aimed to study how sleep is impacted by defective hypocretin/orexin signaling and identify new genes that regulate sleep and may be involved in human sleep disorders. He earned his Ph.D. in molecular/cellular biology from the University of Washington, Washington, and his B.S. in biochemistry from the University of Manitoba, Canada. He is now a Professor in the Division of Biology and Biological Engineering at California Institute of Technology, Pasadena, California.
