Daniel Reich was a Fellow in Radiology and Radiological Science at Johns Hopkins University. Under mentorship from Peter Calabresi and Susumu Mori, his research focused on magnetic resonance imaging in multiple sclerosis (MS). Specifically, using diffusion tensor imaging, he studied the links between clinical dysfunction - especially in the visual system - and imaging abnormalities. This work tested the hypothesis that quantitative and functionally relevant measures would substantially improve the ability to monitor MS over time. These results would be directly applicable to routine patient care and as imaging-based biomarkers for clinical trials of new MS therapies. He received his Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the Rockefeller University, and his B.S. in Math and Physics from Yale University.
