Dr. Avital Rodal was a postdoctoral fellow/associate with Dr. Troy Littleton at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, Massachusetts. Her research focused on understanding how the relationship between signal transduction pathways and actin cytoskeleton regulators control cellular structures in Drosophila synapses to help better understand neurological diseases, including intellectual disabilities. She earned her Ph.D. in molecular and cell biology from the University of California, Berkeley, California, and her B.Sc. in biology and chemical engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, Massachusetts. She is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Biology at Brandeis University, Waltham, Massachusetts.
