Dr. Aryn H. Gittis was a postdoctoral researcher with Dr. Anatol Kreitzer at the Gladstone Institute of Neurological Disease, San Francisco, California. Her research focused on identifying the role of fast-spiking interneurons in regulating striatal output in order to better understand the neuronal basis of motor control in both health and disease. She earned her Ph.D. in neuroscience from the University of California, San Diego, California, and her B.A. in neuroscience from Brandeis University, Waltham, Massachusetts. She is now an Associate Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences, Center for the Neural Basis of Cognition at Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
