Matthew Rasband, Ph.D.

Dr. Rasband’s laboratory examines the molecular mechanisms that are responsible for assembly and maintenance of electrogenic compartments of axons in normal health, and during disease or injury. His mentoring approach meaningfully impacted trainees as well as peers. Trainees described valuable one-on-one time with him, as well as his commitment to diversity and mentoring of junior faculty, all within an open-door-policy of mentoring. Additionally, peers feel comfortable approaching him when faced with questions that arise with personnel, operations, or career advice.
