Eric Klann, Ph.D.

Javits Award

Dr. Klann uses diverse approaches including electrophysiology, imaging, and behavioral studies in transgenic mice to understand the molecular mechanisms of synaptic plasticity, or changes in the strength of neuronal connections that are important for learning and memory. In this project, he is examining altered protein expression in a mouse model of Alzheimer’s disease and the role these alterations play in impaired synaptic plasticity and memory deficits.
