Dr. Feldman probes cells in mouse whisker somatosensory cortex with electrophysiological techniques to study processes such as synaptic plasticity and general excitation/inhibition mechanisms. For his latest project, he will employ 2-photon population-level calcium imaging, electrophysiology, and optogenetic manipulations to study local vs. long-distance cortical connectivity and cross-sensory projections between sensory modalities.
