Individual Fellowships

NINDS individual fellowships provide research training opportunities to trainees at the graduate, and postdoctoral levels.

Predoctoral Awards

Individual fellowships for predoctoral training which leads to the combined MD/PhD and other dual Clinical/Research degrees for students in non-MSTP programs. NINDS does not support the F30 mechanism at MSTP institutions.

Fellowships to provide predoctoral individuals with supervised research training in specified health and health-related areas leading toward the research doctoral degree (e.g., PhD) or MD/PhD students in MSTP programs.

Fellowship support for the research training of predoctoral students from diverse backgrounds, including those from groups that have been shown to be underrepresented in the biomedical research workforce.

The NIH Blueprint and BRAIN Initiative Diversity Specialized Predoctoral to Postdoctoral Advancement in Neuroscience (D-SPAN) Award supports the pre- to post-doctoral transition of diverse graduate students.

Postdoctoral Awards

Fellowship designed specifically to support outstanding scientific training for graduating predoctoral and postdoctoral fellows who will begin or are just beginning a new postdoctoral training period in a given laboratory or research environment.

Fellowship designed to enhance the research training of early postdoctoral trainees who have the potential to become productive investigators in research areas that will advance the goals of the BRAIN Initiative.
