Dr. Tam Vo (he/they) is a Science Policy Analyst in the Office of Neuroscience Communications and Engagement (ONCE), Neuroscience Content and Strategy (NCS) Branch, at the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS). ONCE's primary goal is to foster knowledge about the brain and nervous system and facilitate information about neuroscience discoveries and research programs through strategic, comprehensive engagement with various stakeholders, including public and scientific communities. A major component of Dr. Vo’s work involves the Brain Research Through Advancing Innovative Neurotechnologies® (BRAIN) Initiative, a trans-NIH initiative that aims to revolutionize our understanding of the human brain. Recently, He coordinated the 2022 Show Us Your BRAINs! Photo & Video Contest, where researchers showcased the BRAIN Initiative's spirit through stunning images and videos. He is also involved in a new project that spotlights researchers supported by the BRAIN Initiative Fellows: Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award (NRSA) Individual Postdoctoral Fellowship (F32). In addition, Dr. Vo is actively involved in the NIH community. He is a member of Salutaris, the NIH Sexual and Gender Minority (SGM) Employee Resource Group, and the NIH Federation of AANHPI Network (FAN).

Before joining the NINDS, Dr. Vo was a Postdoctoral Researcher in Dr. Natasha Caplen’s group at the National Cancer Institute (NCI), Genetics Branch. His research focused on understanding the interactions between proteins and nascent RNA in Ewing Sarcoma pediatric cancer. Dr. Vo received his Ph.D. in Biophysical Chemistry from Georgia State University and his B.S. in Chemistry from Mississippi State University. In his free time, Dr. Vo enjoys endurance sports, fantasy/sci-fi novels, video games, and long-distance cycling with his boyfriend.
