Ms. Talya Dawson is an Operations Coordinator who supports the Neural Environment Cluster (NET) and the Channels, Synapses and Circuits Cluster (CSC) in the Division of Neuroscience (DON).

Ms. Dawson began her career at NIH in 2017, in the Office of the Director (OD), where she supported the Division of Intramural Research (DIR), of the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute's (NHLBI) initiative to digitize federal records. During her time with NHLBI, Ms. Dawson served as a Clinical Research Records Liaison in which she assisted in the designing and implementation of a paperless system for NHLBI's DIR clinical teams. Additionally, as a Clinical Research Records Liaison, she managed and created effective processes and scanning plans for over 25 clinical teams. Furthermore, as co-leader of the Clinical Research Records Archiving Project, she performed quality assurance on records and conducted preliminary, follow-up and final meetings with senior scientific leadership. As a result of the Archiving Project, over 50 clinical teams transitioned to electronic formats and over 1.5 million pages were scanned; approximately 35,000 gallons paper clinical records were purged.

In August of 2020, Ms. Dawson went on to serve as an Administrative Officer (AO) in the General Administration Branch (GAB) of the Office of Intramural Management (OIM) for the DIR. As an AO, Talya provided administrative and management support services including: advising in financial management, acquisitions, travel and human resources.
