Dr. Claudio A. Villalobos Dintrans (he/his) is a Health Program Specialist in the Repair and Plasticity Cluster at NINDS. Dr. Villalobos Dintrans earned a B.S. in Biological Sciences from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile followed by a Ph.D. in Pharmacology from Wayne State University. His graduate work investigated the intracellular mechanisms regulating 5HT-induced changes in neuronal excitability. Following his graduate work, he conducted post-doctoral research at the University of Chile and at the University of California Los Angeles. His research focused on the role of high-frequency hippocampal oscillations during spatial memory consolidation and the collicular mechanisms for orienting movements, respectively. He also served as an Adjunct Instructor in Biology at Nebraska Wesleyan University and as an Associate Group Leader at PPD/ Thermo Fisher Scientific before joining NIH/NINDS.
