Location: Montgomery County, MD

The NINDS Division of Translational Research is seeking an Executive Assistant (EA) to the Associate Director of the Division of Translational Research (DTR). The EA will report to the Associate Director and provide critical administrative management for the Office of the Associate Director and the Division on daily administrative operations such, but not limited to, travel, procurement, calendar management and meeting coordination. The incumbent will work closely with the DTR Associate Director and Chief of Staff to ensure efficient operation of the Division and collaborate across the Institute to help accomplish the overall goals of DTR and NINDS.

Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is not required but is preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in administrative duties including but not limited to: calendar management, building travel itineraries (local, domestic, sponsored, and international), procurement, coordinating meetings, and managing special projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Working within the DTR Office of the Associate Director, organizing and managing day-to-day activities;
  • Assisting the DTR Associate Director and Chief of Staff with coordinating special meetings including, but not limited to, workshops, meetings of the NINDS Advisory Council, and staff retreats;
  • Responding quickly and accurately to communications internal and external to DTR/NINDS;
  • Coordinating and scheduling meetings while managing complex and dynamic calendars;
  • Producing accurate and timely meeting agendas, minutes, and materials;
  • Scheduling and coordinating DTR recruitment activities including virtual and in-person interviews;
  • Coordinating activities with professional organizations and other external stakeholders, as needed;
  • Arranging local, domestic, and international travel;
  • Procuring supply and equipment orders;
  • Participating in the development of DTR staff initiatives and analyzing their success;
  • Assisting the staff in coordinating special initiatives and projects.

This is a Federal GS-11, GS-12 or GS-13 position located in Montgomery County MD. Level is based upon individual qualifications and professional experience. A full benefits package is available, which includes Thrift Savings Plan participation, health, life and long-term care insurance.
