Whitney is a Research Coordinator within the NINDS Clinical Trials Unit and Neurogenetics Branch. Prior to this role, she spent a number of years gaining dynamic experience in scientific and clinical research, as well as healthcare. She studied Biology and Chemistry at Virginia Commonwealth University, and interned at their Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. There, she worked on a molecular mechanisms of oncogenesis project, with a focus on the pathway utilized by the mutant p53 gene in enhancing tumorigenicity and how mutations in it can lead to cancer development.

After university, she worked as an Emergency Department and Vascular Surgery Medical Scribe for some time before transitioning to clinical trials. Her first job in clinical research was at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research Clinical Trials Center, where she worked on multiple vaccine and infectious disease studies. After three years there, she transitioned to data management and worked on several EU and medical device studies.

Whitney became a member of the Society of Clinical Research Associates in 2018 and is a Certified Clinical Research Professional.
