Awarded Project
Elucidating cutaneous mechanosensory circuits, from development to disease.
This project aims to use an extensive repertoire of molecular-genetic tools to study somatosensory neuron development and function mechanisms and the central representation of touch under both normal and disease conditions. Dr. David Ginty’s group leverages mouse molecular genetics, in vitro signaling approaches, circuit mapping, and electrophysiological and behavioral analyses to gain an understanding of the development, organization, and function of neural circuits that underlie the sense of touch.
