Action and interaction of neurotransmitters and neuromodulators
Dr. Sabatini’s research is focused on uncovering the mechanisms of synapse and circuit plasticity that enable the learning of new behaviors. His lab is interested in the postnatal developmental changes that make learning possible and how the learning process triggers changes in neural circuits. This research program will further investigate the structure and function of neurons in the mouse brain to understand how these features contribute to the unique functions of the mammalian brain.
