Dr. Justin Kawika Ichida was a postdoctoral fellow with Dr. Kevin Eggan in the Department of Stem Cell and Regenerative Biology at Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts. His research focused on identifying a set of defined transcription factors to convert fibroblasts into functional spinal motor neurons to help provide an accessible source of patient-specific motor neurons for the study of neurodegenerative diseases. He earned his Ph.D. from Harvard Medical School, Boston, Massachusetts, and his B.S. from the University of California, Los Angeles, California. He is now an Associate Professor of Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine at the Eli and Edythe Broad CIRM Center for Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cell Research, University of Southern California, Los Angeles, California.
