K99/R00 Pathway to Independence Award

NINDS K99/R00 Awardee - January 2020

Holger Dannenberg is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences at Boston University. Under joint mentorship from Michael Hasselmo and Mark Howe, his research investigates potential mechanistic roles of sensory inputs and cholinergic modulation for generating neural coding of location and movement speed, leveraging novel methods including fiber photometry and optogenetic manipulation. The work will inform how the brain codes location and movement speed in the service of memory-guided navigation. He received his Ph.D. in experimental epileptology and cognition from the University of Bonn, where he also completed his B.S. and M.S. in molecular biomedicine.
