Dr. Graeme Woodworth is a Professor of Neurosurgery and Director of the Brain Tumor Treatment & Research Center at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. His clinical specialties include brain and tumor neurosurgery, as well as neurosurgical oncology. Dr. Woodworth's research focuses improving treatments for unresectable, brain-invading tumor cells that cause neurological injury and contribute to the recurrence of glioblastomas. In this work, he aims to leverage and study the diverse effects of focused ultrasound to improve treatments for these tumors as well as apply the knowledge derived from these studies to malignancies in other organs. He recently demonstrated safe and effective use of transcranial focused ultrasound in living rats, which has the potential to expand therapeutic uses of focused ultrasound to human patients.

After receiving his undergraduate degree from Tufts University and his M.D. from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, Dr. Woodworth remained in Baltimore to complete his residency in neurosurgery and fellowship in Neuro-Oncology-NCI/Nanotechnology. He completed a subsequent fellowship in Cranial Neuro-Endoscopy at Weill Cornell School of Medicine.
