Indira Raman, Ph.D.

Javits Award

Dr. Raman’s research focuses on the cerebellum, a part of the brain that facilitates coordinated movements through real-time error correction based on sensory input. By recording and modulating cerebellar circuit activity in mice and zebrafish, she seeks to understand how firing patterns in cerebellar output cells are regulated by inhibitory and excitatory input and how this regulation varies during learning and error correction as animals perform practiced movements.
