Dr. Utz is a Program Director in the Neural Environment group at NINDS. Her areas of expertise include Multiple Sclerosis, CNS Autoimmunity, and Neuroimmunology. Prior to joining NIH, Dr. Utz served as a faculty member in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at McGill University in Montreal, and as a Senior Staff Fellow with FDA. Her research career focused on immune responses in autoimmune and infectious diseases with emphasis on antigen presentation and T cell receptor recognition. Dr. Utz received her Ph.D. from Friedrich-Alexander-University in Erlangen, Germany.
