Dr. Hendriks serves as faculty neuroethics consultant at the Neuroethics Program of the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke. This program aims to support integration of neuroethics throughout NINDS-supported efforts. A significant component of Dr. Hendriks’ work involves the Brain Research through Advancing Innovative Neurotechnologies (BRAIN) Initiative.

Dr. Hendriks is also a faculty member of the Department of Bioethics at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Clinical Center. In this role, Dr. Hendriks conducts bioethics research on the ethical, social and legal implications of emerging medical technologies.

Prior to her current position, Dr. Hendriks held a two-year postdoctoral fellowship at the NIH Department of Bioethics. She obtained her M.D. and Ph.D. at the University of Amsterdam and received B.S. in Liberal Arts and Sciences from Amsterdam University College
