Dr. Rachel Weinberg is a Health Programs Specialist in the NINDS Systems and Cognitive Neuroscience Cluster and provides support for the Helping to End Addiction Long-term (HEAL) initiative. Prior to joining NINDS, Dr. Weinberg received her B.S. from the University of Maryland and completed her Ph.D. at Johns Hopkins University with Dr. Michael Caterina. Her graduate research focused on evaluating mechanisms of pain in rare human skin disorders through comparative histological, behavioral, molecular and physiological analysis of rodent models. Dr. Weinberg then continued as a post-doctoral fellow where she further studied molecular alterations and neuro-immune interactions in painful disorders.
