Nicole Farhat is a Clinical Research Program Manager in the Division of Clinical Research at the NINDS. Prior to joining DCR, she was in the NICHD Intramural Program as a pediatric nurse practitioner, with a focus on Niemann-Pick type C (NPC), a rare neurodegenerative lysosomal storage disease. Over the past 17 years she managed clinical, data and regulatory aspects of an ongoing longitudinal natural history study as well as several Phase 1 and Phase 2/3 IND trials. She co-developed an NPC neurological severity scale, which has been widely adopted by clinicians and industry sponsors as a clinical endpoint for NPC disease. Nicole earned her B.S. in Nursing from Georgetown University, CRNP degree from Catholic University and completed the Duke/NIH Master's Program of Clinical Research in 2020.
