Mary Coats is the chief of the NINDS Workforce Engagement and Development Section. In this role she fosters the Insititute's committment to creating a positive and supportive workplace for all NINDS staff. She leads workforce engagement in support of NINDS’s overall strategic goals and inititiaves including organization changes; risk management; employee surveys and analysis; performance and awards management; mandatory training; supervisory and leadership training.
Ms. Coats has been with NINDS since 2013 as a management analyst and special assistant to the Deputy Director for Management. Prior to NINDS, Ms. Coats worked at the Federal Aviation Administration in the areas of Business Planning and Workforce Management. She began her career working for a structured finance boutique firm, TowPath Partners, developing marketing and capture processes. Ms. Coats has an undergraduate degree The Catholic University of America and an MBA from the George Washington University with a concentration in Strategic Management and Public Policy.
