Dr. Marcy Manes Pape has transitioned to the NINDS DCR after 20+ years of experience as a Physical Therapist.  During that time she worked in many in-and-outpatient settings with a focus on recovery for those with various stages of Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).  Her most recent experience was working with service members at the National Intrepid Center of Excellence on the campus of Walter Reed National Military Medical Center to address sequela related to TBI and psychological health.  Marcy is a certified clinician in Vestibular, Lymphedema and Neuro-Dynamic Therapy, and has research experience and publications on balance and vestibular dysfunctions.  Specifically, she has studied the impact of mild TBI on higher level balance functions, central vestibulopathy and smooth pursuits.  She has also investigated the use of virtual environments for assessments of dual tasking and vestibular integration among service members with a history of TBI.  She graduated with her Masters in Physical Therapy from Drexel University and her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Shenandoah University.

Personally, Marcy enjoys running, reading, travel, viniculture and dogs - especially rescuing greyhounds!
