Dr. Heyburn is a Scientific & Operations Manager in the Neural Environment (NET) cluster, where she oversees the hemorrhagic stroke and aneurysm/malformation portfolio as well as provides support to the NET cluster Program Directors. She joined NINDS in 2022 as a Health Program Specialist. Prior to joining NINDS, she was a postdoctoral researcher at Walter Reed Army Institute of Research, focusing on rodent models of blast-induced traumatic brain injury. Dr. Heyburn received her PhD in Neuroscience from Georgetown University, where she studied neurodegeneration and astrocyte dysfunction in a model of ALS/FTLD.
