Jessica Mazerik is the Program Director for the Helping to End Addiction Long-term Initiative (HEAL) Data Ecosystem. The program supports HEAL investigators in broadly sharing their data through the HEAL Platform and Semantic Search, and in partnership with diverse stakeholders, accelerates translation of results to action through HEAL Connections. Prior to working in the HEAL Initiative, she led workforce activities in the OD/DPCPSI Office of Data Science Strategy, and served as a special assistant to the NIH Deputy Director, where she focused on artificial intelligence and data science among other activities. She coordinated two prize competitions to develop 3-dimensional retinal tissue models for the National Eye Institute (NEI), Office of the Director. Before working at NEI, Jess worked at the National Cancer Institute, Center for Cancer Genomics, as a program manager for an international initiative to create a biobank of patient-derived 3-D tumor culture lines with matched genomic and clinical data. Jess has a B.S. in biology from Ohio State University and a PhD in cell biology from Vanderbilt University.
