Jennifer Barnes is a Health Program Specialist in the Division of Clinical Research. She has a background in human neurophysiology and motor control, with research experience in theoretical models of motor control and motor learning, fall prevention through perturbation-based training, H-reflex operant conditioning, non-invasive brain stimulation, prism adaptation, and split-belt treadmill training.  Jennifer received a B.S. in Mathematical Science from the United States Military Academy at West Point, and both an M.S. and Ph.D. in Biomechanics and Movement Science from the University of Delaware. Prior to becoming a neuroscientist, she served, first, as a maintenance officer and logistician in the U.S. Army, and later, as an adaptive sports instructor.
 
In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, being outdoors, and volunteering in organizations that support military veterans and/or promote adaptive sports and recreational activities.
