Dr. Harry Kwon serves as the Deputy Director for the Office of Neuroscience Communications and Engagement (ONCE) and Acting Chief of the Scientific and Public Engagement Branch. Prior to ONCE, Dr. Kwon recently served as the Director of the Division of Research Education at the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality and previously served as a Health Scientist in the Office of Communications and Public Liaison at the National Cancer Institute. Prior to Federal service, Dr. Kwon served as Technical Director in the Communications and Health Marketing division at Macro International (now ICF). He is the immediate past president of the Council on Education for Public Health and past chair of the American Public Health Association's Education Board. Locally, Dr. Kwon served two terms on the Montgomery County, Maryland Commission on Health and chaired the Montgomery County Asian American Health Initiative Steering Committee.
 
Dr. Kwon received a B.A. in Social Ecology and a B.S. in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Irvine and an M.P.H. in Health Promotion from San Diego State University. He earned his Ph.D. in Public and Community Health from the University of Maryland, College Park. He is also credentialed as a Master Certified Health Education Specialist (MCHES) by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing.
