Elizabeth I. Sypek, Ph.D.

Dr. Elizabeth Sypek serves as a Program Director in the Office of Training and Workforce Development, where she handles HEAL and Pain-related training and career development mechanisms and the NINDS Advanced and Translational T32 program. Dr. Sypek joined NINDS in 2021 as a Health Program Specialist in the Systems and Cognitive Neuroscience Cluster. Prior to joining NINDS, she completed her Ph.D. in Neuroscience at Stanford University studying microglial transcriptional responses to chronic opioid exposure and neuropathic pain. She then completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Johns Hopkins University further studying neuro-immune interactions in pain and itch.
