Dr. Elizabeth Sypek is a Health Program Specialist in the NINDS Systems and Cognitive Neuroscience Cluster and provides support for the Helping to End Addiction Long-term (HEAL) initiative. Prior to joining NINDS, Elizabeth completed her Ph.D. in Neuroscience at Stanford University with Dr. Gregory Scherrer studying microglial transcriptional responses to chronic opioid exposure and neuropathic pain. She then completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Johns Hopkins University further studying neuro-immune interactions in pain and itch.
