Dr. Elizabeth Sypek serves as a Program Manager for the Helping to End Addiction Long-term (HEAL) Initiative. Dr. Sypek joined NINDS in 2021 as a Health Program Specialist in the Systems and Cognitive Neuroscience Cluster. Prior to joining NINDS, Elizabeth completed her Ph.D. in Neuroscience at Stanford University with Dr. Gregory Scherrer studying microglial transcriptional responses to chronic opioid exposure and neuropathic pain. She then completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Johns Hopkins University further studying neuro-immune interactions in pain and itch.
